Bree take County 5-a-side Soccer Title

There was strong competition at the recent Wexford Macra 5-a-side Soccer finals, held in St. Joseph's Kilmuckridge and hosted by Blackwater Macra na Feirme. All of the active Macra clubs in the county were represented with a round-robin competition taking place. The hosts, Blackwater Macra, got off to a strong start beating a strong Cushinstown team before also seeing off the challenge from Askamore Macra. The Bree team took the hard route to the final, coming from behind in both their first round matches before beating Askamore and Cushinstown. The title contest was set for a match between Bree and Blackwater with Askamore and Cushinstown battling for third place. The third place playoff was a quick and even performance for the first half before Askamore emerged as the winners. In the final both Blackwater and Bree were evenly matched with goals coming from both sides, Blackwater scoring in the final minute to draw level at full time. During extra time the battle continued before Shane Doyle from Bree tapped in to give his side the win. The Bree team now go through to the NDC National Finals, being held in Gormanstown, Meath on the 1st of March.

February County Meeting

The February Wexford Macra County Executive will take place in the IFA Centre, Enniscorthy on the 5th of February at 9pm. All are welcome to attend!

Wexford Macra Indoor Soccer Finals

The County Round of the Indoor Soccer Finals will take place on the 15th of February. In what is always a close and competitive encounter it is hoped that teams from all the clubs in the county will fight it out for the County Title and the chance to represent Wexford at the National Finals. The event will take place in St Joseph's Indoor Complex, Kilmuckridge at 7pm!

Wexford Macra Christmas Party

This years Wexford Macra Christmas Party will take place on Saturday the 20th of December in Wexford Town. The evening will begin around 8.30pm in Maggie May's, Monck Street before the party continues in the other local establishments before hopefully finishing in The Stores, Wexford. All are welcome to attend and if anyone is arriving late please get in touch during the night so we can update you on our whereabouts! Still a few days to get those Xmas Jumpers ready!

County Meeting

The December Executive takes place tonight, 10th of December, in the IFA Centre Enniscorthy at 9pm. As always all members and anyone interested in joining Macra are invited to come along!

Shane to Represent Wexford at Welding

Best of Luck to Shane Caulfield from Cushinstown Macra who will represent Wexford Macra in the Griffin Engineering Welding All Ireland this Friday, 12th of December. Shane Caulfield qualified from the County Finals, held in the Vocational College, New Ross, ahead of David Doyle (2nd) and James Forrestal (3rd).

CountyWelding Competition

The Wexford Macra Welding Competition will take place on Tuesday, 25th November, at 7pm in the Vocational School, New Ross! Contestants need to bring their own rods and mask, all are welcome!
