Clubs in the County

There are currently five active Macra clubs in the county. 

Askamore Macra
Askamore Macra are located between Bunclody and Gorey. Since it re-establishment five years ago they have embraced Macra. They have represented the county in volleyball, football, FBD Young Farmer of the Year and success came at the 2012 Miss Blue Jeans Festival. The club has been involved in community events and organised anniversary celebrations. They say "Macra is great for bringing people together and providing them with the opportunity to broaden their horizons."

Blackwater Macra
Blackwater Macra is a youthful club which is continuing to go from strength to strength as it grows. The club has reached and competed nationally in a wide range of competitions such as Volleyball, Go-Karting, Farm Skills and Know your Ag, to name but a few. Members have also been chosen to represent Wexford in the Miss Macra and Miss Blue Jeans Festivals as well as hosting the renowned annual Wexford Macra Christmas Party. They say "Macra is a great way to experience and compete in a wide range of sports and activities such as soccer, basketball, uni-hoc, public speaking and much more with the opportunity to travel and meet some great people."

Bree Macra
Bree Macra is an enthusiastic young club based 6 miles southwest of Enniscorthy.  In 2012 Bree Macra came centre-stage on the National scene when they became All Ireland Capers and 7-a-side Men's Gaelic Football Champions, finishing runners up in the Team Public Speaking. In the past few years they have also represented the county at national levels in a number of events including volleyball, bowling, National Talent, indoor soccer, basketball, impromptu public speaking and Know your Ag Quiz, as well as personality contests such as Mr Personality, stockjudging, International Miss Macra and Queen of the Land. They club have also hosted a number of events for members of the community. They say "If you are looking for something different and exciting, with the opportunity to meet new people then Macra is the place for you."

Cushinstown Macra
Cushinstown Macra is one of the largest clubs in the county, covering a wide area around New Ross. They are a vibrant and energetic bunch, regular activities include varied weekly sports in preparation for national competitions. Social events such as BBQs and camping are organised monthly. Cushinstown has had a lot of National success which has been great for the club, the individuals and the teams involved. These competition titles include Welding, Bord Bia Stockjudging, National Talent Show and FBD Farm Skills.

Kiltealy/Ballindaggin Macra
Kiltealy/Ballindaggin Macra can be found under the windmills in the foothills of the Blackstairs Mountains, between Enniscorthy and Bunclody. This active club has been successful in many of the Macra competitions in recent times including Mr Personality, Stockjudging and the title of 2011 FBD Farmskills Champions. Members also enjoy organising social events throughout the year.
